On a standard size house block in Ringwood East a developer has put in plans for 9 co-joined triple story town houses. We understand the need to build more houses but replacing one with nine narrow dwellings covering two floors above a single car garage, is too many for the neighbourhood. Other blocks close by have already been rebuilt with 3 or 4 units suited to a better life, exiting on the ground, not overlooking or overshadowing neighbours. If Maroondah is to absorb another 23.000 residents by 2046, this can be accommodated without such an extreme increase on a standard size block. Also of interest is the way Planning Alerts is perceived by Council, comments are not given the status of an objection due to privacy reasons, it requires an email to [email protected] subject the planning number M/2025/*&$# to be taken as an official objection.
