Half way there and looking forward.
Vic National Parks has been lobbying to protect Wombat-Lerderderg, Mount Buangor and Pyrenees parks, plus two new conservation park at Cobaw ( near Kyneton) and Hepburn.
These will be Victoria’s first substantial new national parks in 14 years. These parks are in Victorias central west district, they would provide protection for hundreds of rare and threatened plants, animals and fungi, including Mount Cole Grevilleas, Brush-tailed Phascogales, Mountain Skinks and Powerful Owls.
These new protections have passed the lower house and all are waiting to see if they pass the upper house. CCS is a member of Vic National Parks Association. Check out our CCS FBpage, where you can see a Phascogale.
