Indigenous plants for this region
Croydon has a wealth of indigenous plants. Many years ago we published a booklet titled “Trees and Wildflowers of Croydon”, in which all our valuable native reserves were listed and the species to be seen at each location were documented, the last printing of this was 1988.
With the advent of the www there are now plenty of available resources to be found.
You could try the following Yarra Ranges council www.yarraranges.vic.gov.au on LHS look for Trees and vegetation – then click on Yarra Ranges Plant Directory.
Or you could visit Candlebark indigenous plant nursery, which does seed collection in this area, and has a wealth of knowledge. http://www.candlebark.org.au/
