  • Make a submission to the World Wildlife Fund regarding a review of Australia’s Environmental laws to protect our forests and wildlife

 Look on line at WWF, then click on “get involved” then follow to stop Australia’s extinction crisis

  • Sustainable Living Foundation is running a National Climate Emergency Summit, you can attend at Melbourne Town Hall or sign up to watch it on line

This is supported by ACT govt, Darebin Council, RMIT, Moreland Council, The Guardian, Australian Energy Foundation and Maoneng.

  • Adam Bandt who is now the leader of the Greens,is proposing a new policy that is to double the number of paid firefighters, this will be funded by a $1 levy per tonne on pollution caused by coal, oil and gas businesses. It will also create 16,000 new jobs.


  • Council is inviting members of the community to share their thoughts and ideas for Maroondah’s Liveability and Wellbeing Strategy 2021-2031.

CCS believes the Environment is of ultimate importance, our health and Wellbeing depend on it foremost before we can adopt any Health and Wellbeing concepts. The survey allows you to choose the two most important aspects, Council is already reading some submissions that are putting the environment top of the list

 Council is committed to enhancing the health and wellbeing of its residents to enable them to live healthy and socially connected lives. Our existing Health and Wellbeing Plan 2017-2021 concludes next year therefore we have commenced community consultation for Council’s next health and wellbeing plan – Maroondah’s Liveability and Wellbeing Strategy 2021-2031.   We are interested in your thoughts on the liveability of Maroondah and the wellbeing of our community and would appreciate you taking the time to complete a quick survey.  If you are part of an organisation or group, please feel free to pass this email onto your members so they can participate too.

Environment Victoria is urging people to sign on to a letter to Premier Daniel Andrews to feel the pressure for Strong Climate Targets. A full page Ad in the age will be published with the letter to the Premier, and all the signatories of groups, businesses and organisation that agree with setting the targets to 1.5 degrees.
