Brushy Creek upgrade
Residents in the proximity of Brusy Creek will already be aware that stage one of the upgrade is complete and that plans are done and work is imminent to being stage two.
Brushy creek used to overflow and flood Bellara Rd, after a torrential downpour.
The Waterway Alliance in conjunction with Melbourne water, have been the project managers, and have had great success in bringing the first stage into completion, many of the plants used have come from Candlebark Community Nursery. The flood water now is retarded from running over, and remains in a holding pond, until flow is relatively normal, then it too runs downstream, preventing the water from removing everything in it’s path. It also no longer floods nearby properties, roads and other infrastructure.
